A playful, kid-friendly dessert featuring creamy vanilla pudding blended with cream cheese, layered with finely crushed Oreo cookie crumbs, and garnished with candy carrots and green sprinkles for a fun garden-themed treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk (480 ml)
  • 1 package (3.4 oz/96 g) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (60 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 20 Oreo cookies, finely crushed (about 2 cups of crumbs)
  • 1 cup orange candy melts or orange-colored candy-coated chocolates
  • Green candy sprinkles or green fruit leather strips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Soil: Place 20 Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until you achieve fine crumbs, about 20 seconds. If using a rolling pin, crush in a sealed bag until crumbs are fine but not powdery. Set aside 1/4 cup (30 g) crumbs for garnish. (5 minutes)
  2. Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using an electric mixer or whisk. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy and lump-free. (3-4 minutes)
  3. Prepare the Pudding: In another bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups (480 ml) of cold whole milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to fully set. (7 minutes)
  4. Combine Pudding and Cream Cheese: Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the set pudding until fully blended and smooth. This creates the creamy carrot patch filling. (2 minutes)
  5. Assemble the Dirt Cups: Layer the bottom of each serving cup with 2 tablespoons of Oreo crumbs. Spoon or pipe half of the creamy pudding mixture over the crumbs. Add another Oreo crumb layer on top, then finish with a dollop of pudding. Garnish with orange candy carrots and green sprinkles or fruit leather strips. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. (10 minutes assembly + chilling)

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. If pudding is too thick after mixing, add a splash of milk to loosen it. Press Oreo crumbs lightly when layering to prevent crumbling. Chill at least 30 minutes for best texture. Oreo soil can soften over time; add fresh crumbs before serving if desired. Variations include gluten-free cookies, Greek yogurt substitution, dairy-free options, and seasonal garnish swaps.
