A quick and easy cinnamon roll casserole made from boxed cinnamon roll dough, baked into a warm, gooey, and sweet breakfast treat without the fuss of yeast and rising time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of cinnamon roll dough (about 12 oz; recommended Pillsbury classic cinnamon rolls)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Open the can of cinnamon roll dough and cut the rolls into quarters to create bite-sized chunks.
  3. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish and arrange the dough pieces evenly in the dish.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, heavy cream, and vanilla extract until smooth and combined.
  5. Pour the syrup evenly over the dough chunks, ensuring every piece is coated.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling around the edges. Tent with foil if it browns too quickly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes to set.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar.
  9. Serve warm with a fork. Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or in a 325°F oven for 10 minutes.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the baking dish to allow even baking and syrup absorption. Use room temperature butter for better syrup consistency. Tent with foil if the casserole browns too quickly. For extra gooeyness, drizzle additional melted butter and brown sugar mixture halfway through baking. Let cool before dusting with powdered sugar to prevent melting.
