Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka (or flavored vodka)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry or blueberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water over the strawberry gelatin powder. Stir until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Add 1/2 cup vodka and mix gently. Pour the red mixture evenly into shot glasses or molds, filling about one-third full. Chill in the refrigerator for 30-45 minutes, until just firm but still slightly tacky to the touch.
  2. Make the White Layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water; let it bloom for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, warm 1 cup sweetened condensed milk over low heat (do not boil). Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Stir in 1/2 cup vodka. Carefully spoon the white layer over the red layer, filling another one-third of each glass. Return to the fridge and chill for 45 minutes to 1 hour until set but tacky.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve the blue gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water; stir well. Add 1/2 cup vodka and mix. Spoon the blue layer gently over the white layer to fill the glasses. Chill for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  4. Serving: Once set, run a thin knife around the edges if using molds, then carefully pop the jello shots out onto a serving tray. If using glasses, serve as is. Keep refrigerated until serving time.

Notes

Chill each layer until firm but still tacky to prevent colors from bleeding. Pour slowly over a spoon to avoid mixing layers. Avoid freezing to maintain texture. For non-alcoholic versions, replace vodka with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. For dairy-free, substitute sweetened condensed milk with canned coconut milk.
