Refreshing Spiced Peach Cardamom Lassi

A cooling and slightly spiced yogurt drink featuring fresh peaches, cardamom, and a delicate hint of rose water. Perfect for warm weather and easy to prepare in under 10 minutes.

  • 2 medium fresh peaches, peeled and chopped
  • 1 ½ cups plain yogurt (full-fat or Greek-style)
  • ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon rose water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • A handful of ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel, and chop 2 medium peaches into small chunks. If peaches are underripe, let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. In a blender, combine chopped peaches, 1 ½ cups plain yogurt, ½ cup milk, 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, ½ teaspoon ground cardamom, 1 teaspoon rose water, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice.
  3. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if too thick and blend again.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or cardamom as desired, adding more honey or a pinch of cardamom carefully.
  5. Optionally, add a handful of ice cubes and pulse 2-3 times to slightly crush without diluting the flavor.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately. Garnish with crushed pistachios or rose petals if desired.

Notes

Use ripe peaches for best flavor and texture. Freshly ground cardamom enhances aroma. Be cautious with rose water to avoid overpowering the drink. For a dairy-free version, substitute yogurt with coconut yogurt and milk with almond or oat milk. Do not blend too long after adding ice to prevent dilution. Stir before serving if separation occurs.
