This easy copycat Lunchable snack box with salami and crackers is a quick, customizable, and delicious alternative to store-bought lunch kits. Perfect for school lunches, work snacks, or picnics, it comes together in under 10 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 to 6 ounces salami (Genoa, hard salami, or pepperoni)
  • 3 to 4 ounces cheese (cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella string cheese)
  • 1 cup crackers (Ritz, saltines, whole-wheat, or gluten-free)
  • Small handful grapes, apple slices, or berries (optional)
  • Baby carrots, cucumber rounds, or cherry tomatoes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, honey, or ranch dressing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Take salami and cheese out of the refrigerator. Slice cheese into bite-sized cubes or rectangles about 1/2 inch thick. If salami is not pre-sliced, cut into thin rounds or quarter slices.
  2. Wash and cut produce: Wash fruit and vegetables thoroughly. Slice grapes in half lengthwise, cut apple slices into thin wedges, leave baby carrots whole.
  3. Assemble the crackers: Count out 10 to 12 crackers per box. Optionally, sandwich a small piece of cheese between two crackers. Place in one compartment of bento box.
  4. Arrange the salami: Fold or roll salami slices into triangles or cylinders. Place in a separate compartment.
  5. Add the cheese: Place cheese cubes or slices in another compartment. If using string cheese, pull apart into strips. Optionally, use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
  6. Fill remaining spaces: Use fruit and vegetables to fill empty compartments. If including dip, pour into a ramekin and nestle into the box.
  7. Final check and seal: Ensure everything is secure and lid fits properly. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Keep crackers separate from moist ingredients to prevent sogginess. Use an ice pack for packed lunches. For best results, use firm cheeses like cheddar or gouda. Prep components ahead of time and assemble just before serving.
